Xiao Jiyue and Lin Yusheng are graduates from a Geology College. They are assigned to work in Qinghai, a remote and less developed province that has harsh working conditions. Lin leaves his colleagues due to the harsh environment and goes to Shanghai in the hope of finding a comfortable job there.
