Taizu (First Emperor) quan is one of the chief boxing styles in traditional Chinese kungfu and Taizu changquan is one of the eighteen Shaolin styles. It is said that Taizu Quan is honored as No. One boxing because it was created by Song Taizu (the first emperor of the Song dynasty). He created sixteen routines of changquan. However, most of the routines were lost during the course of several hundred years except six routines such as huaquan, huaquan-routine I and huaquan-routine II. The closing form of the first section of Shaolin Taizu changquan is the beginning form of the second section. The characteristic of first section is: all the movements extend elegantly and composedly with strong force and agile speed.
