About the Author 刘先平
Liu Xianping, regarded as the father of contemporary Chinese nature literature, has been exploring nature for more than 40 years. He has written four novels and dozens of adventure stories about exploring in the wildlife world. His works have won three national prizes for children's literature. He has received a National Outstanding Children's Literature Award on two occasions. In 2010, Liu Xianping was nominated for the Hans Christian Andersen Award. In 2011 and 2012, he was listed as a candidate for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. He is an honorary member of the Chinese Writers Association.
About the Translator 姜巍
Jiang Wei obtained his B.A. degree from Shanghai International Studies University and his M.A. degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He is pursuing his M.Phil. degree in the Department of Translation at CUHK. His research interests are in the Chinese translation of English detective fiction in early Republican China and studies of the authorship of the Mandarin Ducks and Butterflies school.
